It is possible that this nib was a "vanity" pressing, produced by another manufacturer but stamped with the Golden Montana name. Among other business lines, The Golden Montana Company operated a business supply component.
It is possible that this nib was a "vanity" pressing, produced by another manufacturer but stamped with the Golden Montana name. This seems likely, since the manufacturing equipment for mass-producing nibs required considerable investments and real estate--which does not appear to have been the case in Lewistown. Also, The Golden Montana Company operated a business supply component that would have enjoyed a benefit from such a vanity pressing. If that's the case, we at least know that it wasn't "one-off": Pendemonium shows a Golden Montana 64 nib, and this collection shows a Golden Montana 9.

The Golden Montana nib appears to be of U.S. origin, produced in Lewistown, MT. I cannot find any information about it. However, I did find reference on the Pendemonium Dip Pens Nibs page to a Golden Montana nib, showing Golden Montana as the manufacturer. The Golden Montana Company operated in Lewistown for 60 years, from 1922 to 1982.

Versions

There is only one version of the Golden Montana 9 nib in the Chappy's Nibs collection. The nib pictured below is Golden Montana 9.
