Hunt 59 v2
Described in contemporary advertising (Zanarian) as: "Hunt's Round Pointed Pens. No. 59. University. Fine point. Moderate action. Very popular."
The Blam Nib site explains that C. Howard Hunt's Pen Company began to manufacture pens in Camden, New Jersey in 1899. The factory moved to Statesville, NC in 1958. Since 1997 the Hunt Pens are manufactured by the Speedball Art Products Company. (Although Speedball still produces dip nibs, the 59 University nib is not currently produced.)
Versions
There are two distinct versions of the Hunt 59 nib in the Chappy's Nibs collection:
- Version 1: the company marking is HUNT
- Version 2: the company marking is C.H.HUNT PEN CO.
(These version names are defined for this collection alone, and are not necessarily industry-wide terms.)
The nib pictured below is Version 2.
